Hello folks,
I've been wanting to try my hand at smoking (something besides cigars that is) and always found it looked pretty complicated or too time consuming. Well a couple months ago my wife went to Costco and came home with a Traeger Texas. She was always intimidated by gas grills, afraid she'd blow it up. The Traeger sales rep convinced her it was easier to use than a gas grill and she was sold!
In our 15+ years together she never used a gas grill. In he couple months we've had the Traeger she's mad filet mignon, burgers, bacon dredged in maple syrup and brown sugar and some outstanding thighs marinated in olive oil, onion and fresh basil. I've spatchcoched a few chickens and so far only 1 slab of ribs. I'm looking forward to learning more and hone the techniques to create so truly delicious food for family and friends and am really glad I found this site full of so many talented and experienced smokers.
