I went camping last night up at about 8000 ft.  and took my best friend Murphy, a Chocolate Labrodoodle.  We didn't get to fish the evening bite, but we did try this morning.  all Murphy wanted to do is swim.  the alpine lake had some way cold water, he was cold instantly!  Well, no catch for breakfast.

After we ate bacon and eggs, we broke camp and found a spot to fish.  After a bit of cursing the dog for swimming and loosing a shoe in the water I had to wade in and get, I caught a cutthroat about 12 inches long.  After about 30 minutes of waiting a 13 inch brown, then a 17 inch brown and lastly a 18 inch cutthroat.  Now I am limited out and had to go home.

I put them on a cedar plank and now they are on the grill on low.  Can't wait.

First, those are some beautiful fish!! Can't wait to see the finished product.

Next, I have a question. Why was the dog wearing shoes?

OK, here are the final pics.  They were outstanding.  I seasoned with lemon pepper and garlic salt then on the plank and grilled on low for about 1/2 hour.  took off the cedar and removed heads, skin and bones.  Very awesome.  The browns had a great meaty flavor and the cutthroat when cooked turned light brown and had a great light cedar flavor mixed with a meaty flavor.
