Hey everyone! I hail from southern CA and am relatively new to smoking meats.

I have been cooking for years and love grilling but have always wanted to smoke meats as well... So I finally got out there and purchased a smoker... albeit a cheapy! I have a vertical brinkmann charcoal smoker which I have modified to make it more user friendly. So far I have successfully made ribs twice and finished them off in one sitting!!!

Welcome to the board! I suggest you experiment with chicken like leg quarters or split breasts, just to get the hang of your rig and the fuels you like.

Hello and welcome, congrats on the ribs. Looking forward to seeing future post and Pics.
