Newb from MA

Just another newbitz here. Always had an interest in giving it a try but never did. I got an electric smoker from my in laws for Xmas and I think it was more so I can cook them some BBQ. Either way I'm excited to get going. Weather should be nice so I think I'm going to try something this weekend.

Any tips on what should be my first run? I was thinking a brisket.

Hello and welcome from East Texas. I'd start with some chicken, couple of reasons, Gives you a chance to try out your smoker and make sure it is working properly, check the temp gauge, lets you get to know your smoker, heat ranges, amount of smoke, smoking times, etc. And chicken is cheap, easy and forgiving. and if is doesn't turn out the way you wanted you not out a lot of time and expense.

I'm in Haverhill.

I was thinking a chicken. I'll probably do that first.
