Looks awesome!   I have got to get around to trying this...
OMG yes you do Wes.  It's incredible.    Let you in on a little secret.  Take the PR to about 120ish then pull from smoker, wrap and let it rest.   Once it's cooled a bit, put it in the fridge.   It can then be reheated a day or two later in a 250 degree oven.   Tell whomever to put a temp probe in it and pull the PR when it hits their desired temp (rare, mid rare, etc).   Best part is that it looks and tastes just as good or even better than when it came right out of the smoker.

I have a number of people who get these from me for dinner parties or holiday get togethers  :)

Great idea Dem.   Maybe I'll get around to trying it this summer.   I love PR, but the price is really steep.... :-)

Definitely take a look at it.  Numbers only really work out if you can stock up when there's a good sale.    Kroger had Ribeye loins for $5.50 or less per pound a number of times last year and I stocked up on some each time.    When I do them for others, all the numbers are based off of pre-cooked weight.  An 8lb Prime @ $10 per pound is about $36 in pure profit for an easy 4 hour smoke.

Looks really good, very even color throughout.

I don't know about other areas of the country, but around here holidays bring sales. Hams are cheapest around Easter. Prime Ribs (Choice) are cheapest the week of Christmas. This past Christmas was the first time I paid more than $4.99 a pound for years, but it was still only $6.99. I usually get a total of 6 to 10 roasts at about 6 pounds each. That usually lasts us for the year, until the next Christmas week sale.

Two years ago I got 70 pounds of "Choice" Prime Rib for just under $350. They lasted me about 18 months, because I was in the hospital & lost my taste buds for a long time, but they were all fine, because I had Vacuum packed them all.

I'm paying 6.99 now, it was 5.99 for a long time but it jumped a buck a while back. I've been smoking 40 to 60 pounds at a time once a month. Middle of Iowa

Nice job, I have one that I want to smoke this week. Got it on sale a couple weeks ago for $6.99 lb, beef has been very high around here most of the time.

Thanks  Bear for the heads up.    I'll keep my eyes open around Christmas.

Man I paid 19.95/lb for the prime I got here in OKC.  Wife was a little upset until she took a bite then she kinda forgave me.  But you'd think as big of a stock yard we have locally and the kind of business it does (know a cattle rancher who's just rolling in cash everytime a sale goes on) it would be cheaper.

Wow---That's a lot of $$ for a pound of meat---Must be actual "Prime" Prime Rib.

The stuff most of us, including me buy is "Choice", but I never had any better than most of the Choice I buy.

If they're made properly, they're All Awesome.

Yes sir it was "Prime"  they asked me if I wanted choice but being a novice I went with what's familiar.  I now know better.
