so I think I have decided to  go with an electric smoker because im new to the game.

and it would be easer for me to work with here where im at..  I have the room for it but not so much a big wood smoker

I feel I can learn better with this electric smoker  then I could with a wood one.

I loved smoked ribs and briskets and turkeys.   how are electric smokers

do they taste as well as wood smokers I know I can use wood pellets and chips   thoughts please

A Stick Burner will give the best flavor by the nature of the beast. But, that being said, I have had and used both and with a good rub, sauce and wood pellet choice, definitely talk to Todd at http://www.amazenproducts.com/Default.asp , you can make a product in that smoker that is 99% as good as that which comes off of wood...JJ

well thanks for the input lowes no longer carys the one with the glass door but they have the one without the glass door.

so its prob the one I will get  to start me off

this homedepot does not cary them in store  said they don't sell enough I would have to order it online..

I have a MES-40 with the remote and glass door and love it.  The glass door needs to be cleaned after each use or it becomes worthless after a couple uses.  Not a big deal, but you do need to do that.  Mine has a stainless door with steel cabinet.  Stainless cabinet would be nice but certainly not essential.  I do like the remote as well as the glass door.  I often use mine when it is cold outside and to be able to check it without going outside and opening the door of the unit is a real plus to me. Mine is 4 years old and at the way it is going it will likely last another 4.  I have repaired the solenoid  board at the bottom of the unit about a year ago and just replaced the heating element last week.  It gets a lot of use.
