Hi all,

Just found the site while looking for tips on regulating temp on my smoker. Just got my 1st smoker, a Camp Chef Smoke Vault and tried it for the 1st time today. Found the 24 inch model for under $200 and couldn't pass it up...now just have to learn to use it. One thing I like about grilling and smoking - eating my mistakes! (Ok, some of them aren't edible!) Today's were quite tasty, even though I struggled with temps. Time to read, read, read....

Hey wek29-this is the site to help you master that Smoke Vault. The thing I learned is to adjust the temps in increments, let the temps settle for 10-15 minutes and adjust some more and let the temps settle. If you make BIG temp adjustments, you'll be chasing your temps all over the place and it can make for a poor smoking experience.

Enjoy the Smoke!

Thanks for the welcome all!  Sounds like I need to spend some time with no food on this and just slowly change things.
