I reside in Utah and have been Q'n for about 2-3 years now.  I currently use a pellet smoker, but have acquired a 750 gal propane tank that I am looking to convert to a smoker.  That's how I found this forum.  While researching my design dreams, I found a post by smokin-aces that is very close to what I was envisioning.  Would love all the help and advice I can get.

Welcome, pretty good site !    Check with the member on the build you like I am sure you will get plenty of information, lots of good builders on here.

Hey

Welcome to the Smoking  forum.   You’ll find great , friendly people here, all more than willing to answer any question you may have.  Just ask and you’ll get about 10 different answers—all right.  LOL.   Don’t forget to post qviews.

I haven't done a build but there are a lot of people on the forums with expertise. I look forward to a post of your build!

Thanks for the welcome.  This is going to be my first build.  I have dreamed about it for the last few years, but just came into possesion of a big propane tank to work with.  I'm in the beginning stages and trying to do as much research and planning before we start.  I actually found this group because of my research.  I found smokin-aces design and it is almost exactly the way I was headed, but I had questions about flow and heating of the CC.  I pm'd him and waiting to hear back.  If you guys are familiar with his design, I would love to hear your thoughts.  My tank is 36" in diameter and 12'4" long.  I'm wanting to do an internal fire box and originally wanted to do a reverse flow, but had trouble figuring the design to have a good draft and heat flow.  If smokin-aces comes back with good reviews on his smoker, I then want to try adding in a radiating plate under the cooking grates.  The RP would double as a grease collector/fluid reservior.  In addition tothe RP, I want to set the FB up for direct grill and dutch oven use.
