I've been smoking in a dedicated smoker for about 9 months now. Before that, I did the best I could with my 10 year old Weber Silver 2 burner propane grill with a chip box.
I built my own flower pot electric smoker. That has served me well but I want better control and more capacity. I'm flirting with either building a larger electric with better controls or buying a ceramic grill/smoker. I'm leaning toward a Vision Kamado. At $600 and the ability to sear a steak at 700 deg plus, I'm finding it hard to pass on.
I'm damn proud of my BB ribs, can do a good PP Butt, and have started doing chicken. Hope to take on brisket and St. Louis Ribs soon. After lurking around this site, I'm thinking about more.
