I'm new to smoking from East Peoria, Illinois. I graduated from Iowa State University with a mechanical engineering degree a couple years ago and am now working as a Design Engineer for Caterpillar Inc.

I love cooking and grilling of all sorts and this has led me to purchase my first smoker, Masterbuilt[emoji]8482[/emoji] Sportsman Elite[emoji]174[/emoji] Two Door Propane Smoker, 30" from Bass Pro. I seasoned it last night and tonight after work I smoked 3 boneless pork chops and some leftover bacon. Used apple wood and water with some butter in the tray. Best bacon I've ever had and the pork chops were delicious too. I'm eager to try new meats and recipes and would like to make my own sausage and jerky eventually.

Hope to learn some new tips and tricks here.
