Hello everyone. I`m a 37 year old fixture designer/CNC programmer from western WI. I`,ve been building my own smokers and smoking meat for 3 years and grilling for alot longer. So far i`ve built a RF and a UDS. I just got a ET-732 which is going on its maiden journey tomorrow smoking a 10 lb picnic and a 8 lb butt for my sons 9th birthday.

Hello from Southern Wisconsin I also just jumped on board and also designed and help build my offset smoker about 8 years ago Now she's getting tired and I'm looking at a lang for my bbq operation looked at a lot of them but keeping going back to the lang site. Any thoughts ?
 
Hey Wi..hearty welcome. Sounds like you are getting the wide world of bbq pits figured out here. Are you interested in electrics at all? I aint bought no steenken charcoal or wood in many moons. Nobody has nagged that the finished product is much worse than when I had the 10 cords of rotten wood in the backyard to feed the ravenous maw of the offset. Whats up with that? lol

Hey wi smoker tell me those are older photos cause here in southern wi my lawn is still white and frozen at least 6 ft deep. Nice job on smoker by the way.
 
Ya last summer and if u want to keep a UDS at 250 -15 helps control the temp but it burns charcoal like crazy to maintain it this winter. Trust me i did it
 
Big wheel I have a good supply of constant fresh seasoned wood so no bother for me right now and like the offset have not done much with electrics but I see your point
 
Hey Hogcooker..you are a blessed fellow to get all that free wood. I am way too lazy to go cut some..even if I could figure how to get my old chainsaw cranked and know where to go.  Now if we had a few guest workers around here..lol. I have two big pee can trees and enough fruit trees to make Johnny Apple Seed jealous..which so far has provided fodder for my electric babies very admirably. Even throw a chunk in the trusty gas grilling instrument occasionally.
