Hello to all and thanks for having me!  Obviously I live in Nebraska, have all of my life except for a few years with the Army (Desert Storm, so yeah, I'm old).  I've always been a decent cook, but started bbq about 20 years ago when my wife bought me a cheap bullet style smoker.  Been hooked ever since.  Over the years I've gone through at least 2 of those bullet style cookers and I've lost count of how many of the cheap off-set style smokers I've gone through.  So this past fall I went out and bought an expensive electric pellet type cooker...I thought it was expensive anyway.  It's a 'Louisianna Grill' (made in Canada, go figure) but I love it.  I'd always considered it to be "cheating" somehow to have an electric, but what can I say, it's made life alot easier lol.  And it's versatile, I can cook steaks at high temps or slow cook a pork butt all day long at 225.

Anyway, looking forward to learning more about the q from all of you guys.

Hello SkullandBones, and welcome to the SMF family!  Nothing wrong with those pellet burners...lots of members here cook on one, including myself (I own a Rec Tec).  Join up to our Pellet Smokers Group if you're interested...there're occasionally some good discussions over there:

This is friendly place to exchange ideas on all things smoked.  Everyone here enjoys helping and sharing.  Looking forward to your input, and just ask if you need anything...someone here will surely have the answer.
