Pizza on the Kamado!! Lots of pics

So this afternoon I had a bigtime craving for some homemade pizza.  I decided to try a beer-infused pizza dough.  I didn't have bread flour on hand so I just used AP.  I rolled the dough out on some cornmeal and stuck with the classic pepperoni pizza for my kids.

I ended up being able to get two pizzas out of the dough I prepared.  So a second one was an absolute given

Looking down through the top vent

I am no pro at making pizzas, as seen by the shape of this one  :)

This was a pretty good pie.  Loved the beer flavor in the crust.  The bottom of the pizza was very thin and crispy

There was no way that 2 pieces would be enough. . .

Under side of the pizza, got some pretty good results.  And everything tastes better with a good beer :)

Second pizza is a barbecue, pulled pork and bacon!!

Cooker held at 550 for the duration.  Absolutely LOVE how easy it is to operate

The best part about it all??  Out of the two pizzas there is absolutely NONE leftover  th_anim_burp.gif

Thanks for stopping by!!

Wow! Pizzas look great! And the Toasted Lager to boot! The non-uniform shape makes it rustic. People pay lots of money for that shape in fancy restaurants where they call it a flatbread hahah but seriously this is making me want to try pizza on the grill!

They are definitely fun to do.  From creating your own style of dough to the endless toppings!

You'd be surprised at how many people ask whats wrong with the pizza (when they see pics on facebook).  I just chalk it up to them not being experienced in eating good pizza.  I agree 100% that the non uniform shape makes it rustic.  I have been experimenting with different beers and LOVE the Toasted Lager. . . . Cold snap, Cultivator and Centennial are also among my favorites.  Adding a little beer to the dough results in incredible flavor.  Once you make your 1st pizza on the grill, you'll be HOOKED  :)

Hey Goliath, yes, it is a normal pizza stone.  I picked it up at lowes for $13 (its a Brinkmann).  You definitely want to heat the stone in the grill.  For you to get excellent results, the cooker needs to reach atleast 500 degrees.  If you plan on making a bunch of pizzas (once you make the first one, you'll be hooked) then I would recommend getting a pizza peel. It's pretty difficult to get the topped pizza onto the stone if you don't have one.  You could always freeze the dough once you have formed the pizza to aid in getting it onto the stone
