Bonzer Mick! Big fan of the lamb shank. And being a southern boy I love okra.  Never thought of putting the two together.  Looks like a great rustic blend of flavor and color.

Brian
I knew okra was popular in the south not big here generally but popular with our African & Middle Eastern communities This is the Dorper got an arse like a Kardishian.

LOL... A lamb with a ham.

Yes it is a bit like that song from Shrek "I like big butts....". I will see if I can get some meat that's actually labelled Dorper. I will take some smoked fish up to the butcher who has a stall at the growers market near me.& see what he can do.

My cattle baron mate told me that you need good fences because they bust out of average fenced paddocks particularly the rams when they get amorous.  Also capable of travelling long distances. No jail can hold me

The way he tells it some farmer  of traditional breeds  near him was mad as hell about unintentionally cross bred lambs " roaming black faced foreign rubbish came from bloody miles away.We better eat those ones ourselves so nobody knows our flock bloodlines got polluted. If turns up here again I will bloody shoot it instead of calling its owner."

time comes around, first of the illegitimates gets butchered "I gotta admit thats a real good looking carcass" ,it hits the grill/sunday roast& attitude changes dramatically.

Ram goes AWOL  again owner rings up "have you seen one of my Dorper rams ? Yeah he is here when I go  to town I will drop him back to you. A week goes by no return.Rings up again "I thought you said you were dropping him back.I did I just didnt say when I was going to town

Clarissa,
Emile Henry make tagines in modern ceramic .The are easy to find big outfit fromFrance.
I don't really need any more cooking gear but if I saw one at a yard sale I would be all over it.
You have to be a little careful with them but not as much as original terracotta .
Regards Mick
Thank you, Mick.  I've got a few Emile Henry pie pans and such....great brand.  I'll keep an eye out for a tagine.

Have a great night!

.The old school ones you had to have a heat diffuser for gas flame. Its all about the conical lid.

Moroccan/Tukish stuff was very fashionable here for a while. All the home wares stores were stocked with knock off fabrics, lanterns, teapots, etc. Then it all went Balinese or maybe that was before .I don't keep up
