Alright, so my wife and I are hosting a Super Bowl party for the big game next weekend.  Of course I'll be smoking something.  We're not planning a meal - just appetizers, etc.  Each family will bring something.  Not sure how many ppl we'll have yet.  Could be 5, could be 12.

Anyway, does anyone have any good suggestions for smoked appetizers or the like?  I've considered doing smoked wings, but my buddy just did some wings last week for a get together we had.  He baked them, so I don't really want to do smoked wings and show him up right after that... :)  Just trying to be a good friend here.  Maybe I'll do some wings after time has passed.

I've also thought of PP sliders.  Or sliced beef (tri tip maybe).

Any other ideas?  What are others doing?

Tri tip is good, especially of you slice it into bite sized chunks and put in a tray with its juices in the bottom. Pork sliders would be good as well.  ABT's will be the hit of the party as well a some pork shots.  Hard to go wrong with a fatty as well.

The sky is the limit.  We are hosting as well and will be doing Scarbelly Wings and some homemade ring sausage (so far).

Hope this helps

Aaron

Do some, I believe they are called ABT's  These are Jalapeno Peppers, sliced lengthwise, then take seeds and ribs out, then put a piece of cheese or cream cheese, your choice goes here, then wrap in bacon and smoke at 225 degrees till done.

Maybe another user on the site can add there post on how to do this better, or their way.

After talking with the Mrs., ABTs and Pork Sliders it is.

We actually have made ABTs before but have deep fried them. Instead of wrapping in bacon, take a jalapeño stuffed with cream cheese, bacon bits, and cheddar cheese and roll it in batter. Then deep fry. Yummy.
I'll give the smoked version a try.

I have done pulled pork sliders a few times and they are a huge hit. I also made some chili with my leftover pulled pork which we used tonight to make nachos...just added some cheese, salsa, guacamole, and sour cream on top. I haven't done them yet but I'd think Moink balls would also be great football food.

Tri tip would be really good.. I think that would be too much with the PP sliders and ABTs. Or maybe... Just maybe... It would be the perfect trio. I have 2 tri tips in the basement freezer just waiting for the next occasion.
