Thank you for the great suggestions and leads to Applied Industrial Technologies and McMaster-Car. This afternoon after work I went to an authorized Hobart repair station hoping the technician had something that could fit. The bearing is metric sized so he did not have anything. We got to talking and he suggested I go to a machine shop to have a bearing made out of brass. He said that is what bearings for my type of grinders were designed to be made of. I took him up on that suggestion and as a result I am hoping to have a replacement bearing by Saturday or Monday the latest. I am crossing my fingers as my sausage project is scheduled for next weekend. The machine shop guy also gave me the measurements for my bearing should I need to check other outlets. I think I will wait until Monday before I do anything else.
Coincidentally a friend of mine I just found out also has a Cabelas grinder...... he is willing to lend me for next week's project if I don't get my bearing made in time.
Yes I'm still here. I'm still trying to improve upon my Venison , Longanisa, and Hawaiian Portuguese Sausages. Lucky for me that I am now retired and can spend whatever time I want on my bonsai, sausage making/smoking, and traveling. Its good to see that you , Erain, and BearCarver are always coming up with great recipes that inspire.
