All info you can provide us with such as smoker type, location and so on will help us answer any questions you may have. As for your question: the answer is YES! There are too many variables to offer advice. What experience do you have? Where do you live? What do you plan to do with the smoker; burgers, chicken legs, brisket, smoke your own bacon and hams, make a little jerky, make and smoke your own sausage, etc., etc., etc.. Each of your choices above will work well for most of these but not all. Your experience also has to be considered, but we don't know that. Good luck.
