I am new here and my experience in barbeque and smoking is "newbie" unless you are talking about eating it . I am from the Philly area and I would like to start Barbequing with a smoker. I am looking at getting a Webber smoker just not sure which one to get 18" or 22". I have been thinking of doing this for years but life always got in the way. Why am I starting now? well a few of our friends and us are going away on July 4 weekend for vacation in the Outer Banks and each family needs to cook dinner so I thought.......... BBQ. I am not sure if I will be up to speed by then but with a little help I think I can.
1. Do you guys keep a log book and if you do what are you documenting?
2. Does anyone have a base line rub and sauce that I can work off of? I know this is a loaded question but I have no clue where to start.
