High - temp BBQ Paint

Got a new smoke hollow propane smoker for christmas. Was wondering if painting it with BBQ Paint prior to seasoning would extend the life. Thanks.

Hello Bill.  I don't own that smoker.  I assume you are  not going to take it back to bare metal and then apply new paint.  Seems to me that if the factory paint comes away it will take your spray job with it.  I would just use it for a season and then take a wire brush to it if need be and repaint.  Just my opinion.  Good luck.
