Welcome to the group rweidner86, that is a beautiful smoker there.   You most definitely have talent.

If you ever need a taste tester for those ribs let me know they look great.

I’ll be watching for your comp pics.

Stan

I'll let ya know the next comp I enter. Doesn't seem to be a lot local though. If you hear of any, let me know. Brisket will be next with burnt ends !

Alright! It's good to see Lansing well represented! (Do I smell a Rose Bowl smoke coming up?)

Brisket is great once you get the hang of it. Love the point.

Stan is the cheese man who also has great ideas (smoked Watermelon with cinnamon anyone?) so let him know if you got any questions about that!

There should be a big smoke on Rosebowl depending on our great weather in good ol Michigan.

Thinking Brisket, ribs and a butt. Have about 50 people coming over.

Any suggestions on new great rubs for brisket?

I also like new ideas.

Ryan,  I like Jeffs rub but you have to buy the recipe from this site. http://www.smoking-meat.com/jeffs-naked-rib-rub-recipe

I also like and have had great results with Billbo's rub.  http://www.smokingmeatforums.com/t/77564/billbos-world-famous-dry-rub-bbq-sauce-recipes

I want to try the Tatonka dust I got from Todds deal on a brisket just to see the wifes face when she sees the black piece of meat and I hear it's fantastic.

Kurt I don't know if I am the cheese man or not but I do love smoked cheese.

Ryan do you have pics of the build of your smoker?  If you do maybe you could start a post in the smoker builds section.  The handles are great.

Stan

I have pics of my whole build under "other builds" and then go to "gasket seal problems". Let me know what you think. Thanks for the rub advice. I will have to try those out. Those handles are made out of Wenge wood which is a southern African wood, very heavy and durable.
