New to smoking but have always wanted to try.  Ran across an mes 40" on black Friday for 199.00 at Academy thought it would be a good time to start.  Today is my Youngest kids 22nd birthday so I put in a butt early this morning Hope it will get done before too late.  Love the site have learned many things from reading now if I can put them to good use.

texas.gifHello and welcome from East Texas. This is a great site, lots of information and great people that are willing to throw in their two cents worth on about anything.

Love pulled pork, I cook mine at 225 until the  internal temp is somewhere between 195 and 200 I pull it off wrap it in foil and a couple old towels and put in a cooler for about an hour. When I take it out I reach and grab the shoulder bone and it slides right out. Perfect pulled pork. Take a couple of big forks or (bear claws if you have them) and pull it apart. Pretty simple.

Good luck

Welcome to the forums Marty!  I'm not too far from you, in NE Okla.  One of our sons lives in Fayetteville and works in Tontitown, so we visit NWA alot.  Glad you've joined our group.  You'll find there are lots of friendly and knowledgeable folks here who genuinely enjoy helping one another.  Looking forward to your input, and just ask when you need anything...someone here will surely have the answer.
