Hello from western South Dakota. I am a Tv manager for Oglala Lakota college. Needed a new hobbie.... Dabbled in jerky making with a dehydrator. Just bought a rec tec smoker and a bunch of processing gear/supplies/books. All I have used up to this point is a gas grill.

Can't wait for smoker to come....:welcome1:

Hello and welcome from East Texas. This is a great site, lots of information and great people that are willing to throw in their two cents worth on about anything.

Welcome Wambli, a pork butt is always a good start. They are pretty forgiving. Pus it will get you into trying a long smoke. Good luck. Post some pics.

Will do. Got the guide book in purchased from here. What's your fav recipe for butt:drool

Oh yes was going to hold back some till it warm for long smokes. Have a rec tec pellet smoker. Wood isn't cheap.... Ordered a welding blanket. Waiting on that. What the hell, can't stand it....
