Hi Great Smokers and Happy Midweek to You!

I play 3 odd little "dinner party" games, which may bring out the food & mood (and wine) fun with you all and so I'm sharing.

First of which, is "What are your  TOP 5 favorite dishes/meals as of TODAY?" Choosing just 5 is way too difficult for many and so the key is to recognize that it can change another time - as it should - but at that very instant, going around the table, everyone must say which their 5 would be right then.  (In other words, if that day was your birthday, what 5 choices would you really really want to choose from etc.)?

And what are five styles of wine you love?

I know, I know, it sounds ridiculous, and yet it's fun! (Or for those who love hearing about food, it is great fun to hear what people love). Or in my mad-cow or mad-mackerel tainted mind anyway...

So as of today, if I had to pick just five options, knowing that I could change that all another time, and just going on this very moment, I'd pick:

1. Smoked alligator with pumpkin seed oil, pumpkin ginger pasta, chives, and Chardonnay smoked sea salt.

2. Smoked Cobia fish.

3. Conch ceviche with black rice on the side.

4. Simple grilled octopus and salad.

5. Seared Ostrich steak - cold in the middle.

And five wines that I love are: White Burgundy, Champagne, Red Bordeaux, and Italian Barolo and Amarone.

OK, who's next? I'd love to hear, just off the top of your head, what top five menus you'd pick today, and some wine styles that you enjoy too! Anyone??? Bueller??? Anyone???

Ok, I had to think about this one a little, but here's whats on my mind today....

1. Sauteed Escolar with Smoking Loon cabernet.

2. Cajun-butter injected smoked chuck roast with Rochester Red beer.

3. Pan fried cobia with Good Harbor Fishtown white table wine.

4. Smoked half-chicken from Union Street Woodshop, (Clarkston MI) with Bells Brewery Hopslam

5. Dozen Island Creek Oysters with Stella Artois beer.

I love hearing what someone else is eating, or craving, or would eat on certain special occasions! So fun!

And the cobia? Well, that's my favorite fish ever, and so I just love that one the most! But wonderful menu!!! Amazing!!!!!! Thanks tons for sharing this! I wonder sometimes if anyone is even reading my blather.
