Cooking racks

Morning everyone. I have an Oklahoma joe smoker. I'm looking for racks or shelves I can put in there to optimize my space. Anybody got any recommendations? Also would there be any draw back to using something like that? My concern would be anything higher up would cook differently.

You could use a rib rack to optimize space and I have found that my upper rack is hotter than my main rack. Heat rises.

Rib racks help for larger cooks. My favorite is the Man Law one we sell on our site. Lowest priced one we have and can fit 7 racks. Also has a lower profile to save on space vertically as well. We use one if our cooker for holiday lunches here and have had no problem doing 30+ racks in out cooker.

I forgot to mention I already have a rib rack. I was looking for something more geared towards cooking wings. Thanks for the input.

I have a buddy that made a 4 level rack out of infrared cooking racks and threaded rod using nuts to separate the infrared cooking racks. The racks are aupposed to be layed ontop of a regular gas grill but he uses them in his smoker no problem. He uses his for wings also.

From what I can remember they are about 12" square. They can be bought at lowes. But I'm sure any cooking rack can be used in this kind of configuration. Depending on how many you stack on top of each other you can double, triple or quadruple the available cooking space. 3 12x12 racks is effectively 432sqin of cooking space while only taking up 144sqin.

I use aluminum pans with liquid/butter/etc and then cover them....then I just grill them to tighten them up...seems to do the trick.
