I present to you gentlemen, The Shooter Sandwich

1 Loaf crusty bread

2 Steaks (Ribeyes are good for flavor)

Mushrooms

Shallots

Sauces(we'll get into that)

Cut the top 1/4 off the bread and hollow out the bottom, this is your vessel. Then, chop up the mushrooms and shallots and sweat those babies down til they get some nice color. Season them to taste (I like a bit of garlic and some worcestershire sauce and some fresh ground pepper). Get ready to layer. Start buy cramming 1 steak down in the bottom of the loaf, top it with the mushroom/shallot combo and then slap the 2nd steak on top of that. Top it with some nice sauces (I like some dijon and some horseradish) whichever you like is fine. If you're feeling fancy throw cheese somewhere inside that beast. Then comes the pressing. Wrap the sandwich in butchers paper and foil and then place a heavy cutting board or sheet pan on top. Then load up that pan or board with as much weight as you can find. Press the sandwich for about 6 hours (overnight is better). When you're done pressing it warm the sandwich in the oven and enjoy!

That's the original recipe, but I've seen folks shove tons of different items in there. I can imagine we meat smokers can come up with something mighty fine to squish between a loaf of bread.
