been lurking around for a while and finaly decided to sign up. live in north dakota  fairly new to smoking got started a couple years back with a walmart special brinks electric, its done ok but dosnt give me near tha capibiltys ive been looking for, so im building my own out of a comercial frige i picked up.  been makeing jerky, frying birds and grillin for years

I've done a few builds on fridges and can tell you for our area propane will provide better temp than electric, for me anyways!
 
thanks thats kind of what ive been figuring I know ive struggled to keep temps in my electric. got to love north Dakota wind and winters.
 
Welcome aboard!  This is the best place I know for sharing ideas on smoking, grilling, curing, etc.  There are plenty of friendly, knowledgeable folks who really enjoy helping one another.  Looking forward to your input here, and just ask when you need anything...someone here will surely have the answer.
