Hot-dip Galvanizing Zinc Temperature RangeHi all . Just need to know if its safe to use galvernised steal sheets inside a smoker..thks
No..... Flax oil is a "drying oil"... it polymerizes into a very hard and stable finish... In a cast iron pan, with about 5-6 coats and oven curing, it is as slick and harder than teflon.... If you can get raw linseed oil, that's the same as Flax seed oil.... edible flax oil is fairly expensive but worth it... raw linseed oil may be cheaper.... boiled linseed oil has metals and stuff in it that makes it non edible.... It may be perfectly OK on the inside of a smoker and definitely OK on the outside.... but not good on a frying pan.... Once it dries and hardens it's pretty good stuff.... It has a very low smoke point until dried and hard... It will cure in the smoker at 350 -400 fairly fast.... a couple hours... at 200 ish, it may take a week or two... DaveEvening dave . Would i need to reoil after every smoke ?
