Hi, Im Rob
wazzapp.gif
and yes my long time girlfriend is a vegetarian.  But don't hold that against me.  It means all the meat goes on my plate, and I dont have to fight anyone for the leftovers!

I have an old smokey electric smoker, and have been very happy with it.  I smoke at least once a week, but its usually more like 2 - 3 times a week. I stumbles across this site, and must say, its quite helpful.  I think I will like it here!

Rob,

What do you normally smoke?   Maybe you should do some smoke artichoke's?  Cold smoke some different cheese?

Oh and welcome.

I have worn three of those out. Ya just can't beat its bang for the buck. Cmayna is right veggies take smoke well, and love the grill!

Nice to meet ya, hope ya enjoy it around here.

You're already admittedly an addict so no since warning you. So, just remember to emjoy the smoke.

I have done several racks of ribs, pork loins, chicken breasts, legs, wings, and once whole that turned out amazing! I tried doing a beef brisket that didn't turn out to bad. But my favorite is the bacon explosion, or as I have seen them called in here, fatties with a bacon wrap (see my profile pic). I even tried smoking a couple pork steaks once that were pretty tasty.

As far as veggies go, I've done smoked potatoes, either eating them as baked potato or smashing them up in potato salad. Hands down, smoking potatoes is the best thing you can do to a potato! Freakin delicious! They really soak up that smoke. But that's it. I definantly need to try some more veggies. I think artichoke would be a great place to start. Thanks for the suggestion!

It's my first smoker, so I really don't have anything to compare it to, but I love it! It's so easy to use I can't believe I ever lived with out it!

I did a smoked cabbage one time.  It was really good.  I cored it out the best I could and in the hole I stuffed butter and garlic.  Took a piece of foil and formed a ring to make the cabbage sit up and smoked it until it was a little soft.  I bet your G/F will love it and you as well.

That sounds really tasty.  I will defiantly give that a try!

Thank you everyone for the warm welcome.  I know I will enjoy it here.  Pics will be coming soon.  Got a full turkey and full chicken in the freezer, and plan to smoke a bacon explosion this weekend.

Have camera, will smoke!
