. I cut too close to the weld and the seam shows, should I just fill in iver it or go ahead and cut through the rest of the way? The other side is worse so I'm thinking just cut through the rest of the way

I would clean it up and even the lines with a grinder first and see what it looks like... .. I would only go deeper into it if I had to.. Nice job on the tongue .. I like it.....

Yea I plan on cleaning it up w grinder. The cut only went through the outside of the tank, the inside seam is showing through so if I don't cut it more I will have to fill in on top of the inner seam

Are you going to get to do some grinding and welding today ?

Gary

Prob not today hut in off tomorrow! Gonna get the second door cut out and hopefully build and mount the firebox

so I was able to add the tongue off a boat trailer just don't know if it will be strong enough as is. I plan on adding a wood rack on top of the tongue and front of the trailer frame so this will help but will that be enough? I could add some angle under both for added support.
Greetings from Big Lake Alaska... Im another first timer so its learn as I go. There are some awsome folks on here who are williing to share their knowledge. I wanted to put in a couple cents on the trailer. The part of the trailer which will be getting hammered is where the tongue meets the squared off portion, flex, flex and more flex. Check out some of the other guys build photos. Any questions shoot me a PM.... Heck don't wait for a question PM me anyhow. I enjoy meeting folks

The rain got me a little behind but I was able to get the second door cut and the hole for the fb cleaned up some. Was able to cut the plates for the fb out lastnight and plan on assembly in the am.

My beast of a firebox! Still only 95% for what it calls for. Cutting the door an finishing box tomorrow. Hopefully will also be able to start an finish cooking grates as that won't b too hard.

my apprentice

. All I need now are handles, firebox breathers, wood storage, and a paint job. Oh yea and I had to go with a traditional smoker so I could use it this weekend but I do plan on moving the stack and putting in a rf plate later

Looking good from your neighbor in Whitehouse
