Like the title says, first attempt at brisket. Bought a 9 pound flat, but being it's only 2 of us, I cut it in half. Gave it a coat of mustard and then a generous coat of Slap Yo Daddy rub last night. Fired up the smoker at 5:30 this morning and when it hit 225, loaded in the brisket. Filled the AMNPS with Cabelas competition blend pellets. After 8 hours, it's only at 155. Don't think it will be done in time for dinner tonight. Will have to see. Cranked up the temp to 240 to see if that helps. Shooting for an IT of 190 to 195. Any suggestions?

Update. After 12+ hours, holding at 168 degrees. Going to plan B for dinner.

Finally hit 195 after 15 hours. The boss insisted on having some even though it was getting late. Let it rest for 20 minutes then sliced it up. Was very pleased with the flavor. Got two thumbs up from the boss.
