A-Maze-N-Tube and Yoder YS640

Hey everyone I just received my A-Maze-N-Tube yesterday. I plan on throwing it in my Yoder YS640 to add some additional smoke during the cook. I have a few questions:

1. I've heard that the tube works great at 225 degrees, but won't stay lit at higher temps (lack of oxygen) Is this true?

2. Where is the best location to place the tube?

3. Any other tips or tricks in regards to the tube?

I love the pellet smoker but want to add some additional smoke to the food during the cook. I've read a lot of good things about the tube and want to give it a shot. I look forward to reading your comments.

Ask Todd...he can tell you what works best for the Yoder.  Send him a PM and he will tell ya.

I cold smoke with mine. Place it at the hopper end so the smoke will fill the cooking chamber.

Center rear is a good location in the YS640, the fans do a great job of supplying air to the tube. Even when cold smoking in the YS640 just flip the controller on but don't engage the hot rod and the fans will be operating to assist for a good burn at the tube and assist air flow.
