So I am going to be smoking 2 whole chickens and 2 racks of pork spareribs tomorrow.

I have never put a rub on my ribs and let it sit over night. I have always done it the day of the smoking for a few hours before hand.

So is it a good idea to throw a rub on and let it sit over night or not.

Second thing is I am looking for a new rub. I don't want nothing hot but more on the sweeter side.

Any help would be great.

Thanks tom

Hi Tom, I have done rubs both ways and didn't really notice any difference.  My only thought would be not to do it the night before if the rub has a high salt content.  As for rubs, use the search bar and i'm sure you'll find something that catches your eye
