Bradley Digital vs. MES 40

Thread Starter

Let me start off by saying that I'm a total noob to smoking. I did a gheto conversion on my gas grill a couple of years ago, but sealing off almost every orifice with foil except one to create a draft and had GREAT success with a brisket. In fact had some friends up from Texas and they said it was the best they had since leaving there.

After doing a little reading here it seems that the MES is VERY popular. I'm looking to get a dedicated smoker now and kinda torn between the Bradley digital, and the MES (gen 1). Other than the pucks that the Bradley takes, are there any pros and cons that I should be aware of?

the pucks are what kept me from getting the Bradley... very happy with my MES (Gen 1).  I have the 30 and so far the size hasn't been an issue, but haven't done any ribs yet and they look like they may need trimmed to get in.  I called MES when I first got my MES and they actually walked me through seasoning it... I was just nervous about running it for the first time.  The customer support was absolutely great (not sure what Bradley's is like).
