Mmm, that looks great! I ended up getting a SJ gold, just because it'll be easier to hook up the Guru. Yours looks like it's burning, great, though. And you've got some nice stay-cool handles on your pot too. Did it come that way, or did you add those?
The handles came with the pot.  It's a Vasconia.

Just did a 9 lb butt that took 8 hours on the mini.  I used the IQ on this cook.  No Teracota just the steamer pan.   I loaded up the charcoal basket heaping and i went 275 for the 8 hours and probably could have squeezed another hour out it if necessary.

Nice bark on that butt!! And I'm jealous of the long, easy cook. My current smoker doesn't minion well at all, so I'm really looking forward to doing this on the mini.

Excellent, that's the pot I ordered, thanks.

Since i never did a good thread on mine i'll post a couple of pics that might helps some folks out with their build.

3 inch high expanded metal in two pieces tied with rebar wire.

A basket makes burns sooo much better.  I burn from the edge out.  I always have starter charcoal and you see my un burnt fuel.

14 inch bolt with a drilled out dowel rod for vent control

The grate is 4 inches down and the second grate is maybe 3 inches above the steamer pan.  I have my hillbillie grate handles...they are 2 clothes pins tied together with rebar wire.  This lets me lift out my food and put it on the grill portion to sear.

The IQ set up.  I used a 3/4 black pipe to screw into the vent hole ...the white piece is a pvc connection to connect to my 3/4 inch IQ adapter.  I didn't want the IQ adapter to melt and this works great.

One more pic is a second diffuser i add if i'm cooking with 2 grates because it evens the temps out between the two.  It's the original pot lid and i drilled holes into it using the steamer as template. I rarely use it but it works well if needed.

No tera pot for me... i want all the flavor dripping down to the coals, plus my food cooks faster with the direct heat diffused with the steamer.

I puffed the middle area up ...it gives head room for charcoal and air flow.

When burning from the edge out, do you put the hot coals on the side opposite the IQ?
