I bought this at Schnucks at .99 cents a pound.

Trimmed off fat-cap.

Rinsed meat.

My setup for meat grinding.

The new Waring Grinder works great!

Weighing meat - It to 6 lbs.

For this first try I used a commercial kit bought a Bass Pro & hand mixed into meat.

Stuffer set-up.

Fried two patties to taste.  It was really good!

Here a some of the Bratwurst.  Put in freezer bags and in the freezer.

Looks great!!! We have that same tupperware bowl and use it for ground meat too

Joe - Too late this time, but will save it in the future.  Thanks for all the comments on this thread.

They do look great . Here's my problems with store bought lately . I had some a couple nights ago and they just didn't taste right to the point I couldn't eat them . The same thing happened a couple months ago with a brand new to my local grocery store . I've also tried some from a local smokehouse . Those were way too salty , again to the point I couldn't eat the 2 I had grilled . I tried the other 2 by boiling them and they were still quite salty . I called those folks and asked if anyone else had complained how salty they were and they answered no , people just tell us how great they are . I know the place seems to be popular . The prices are pretty high . The one day I was there the guy in front of me bought $178 of stuff .

I've been thinking about giving it a try , my friends mom lives right down the street and I have already asked if I could borrow her grinder . She also grinds pork for her tamales , so I know it would work , but as far as store bought I think I'm giving up on brats .

Look great & coming into Brat season. Great deal on the pork...finally just saw a Safeway ad....butts in the bag for 99 a pound.so heading to score some and will be making some Brats & such myself.....Willie. And congrats on making the banner...

I would like to find some butts for that price.  I picked up a couple of pounds of trimings and chunks today, they were still $2.17 a pound.  Going to use them to make to some breakfast sausage this weekend.  Those are some good looking brats, wish my wife liked them, I love them.

looks great...been wanting to try my hand at sausage making for a while now. maybe after we move into the new house the better half will let me pull the trigger on a setup from northern tool. maybe. haha. she does owe me a bday present..lol.
