Hello from TX.

So I'm new here, although I've looked at the site many times,

I smoked a couple things on my regular grill and oven a few weeks ago, with not great results.

I got my Smoker last week in part due to great reviews on here.

I am not so patient or organized and I can be forgetful - but i do get very hungry.

So I felt like a digital electric smoker would suit me.  Ha ha,

ANd....I just got a 40" Masterbuilt Smokehouse. I've only used it 2 times so far but am very impressed.

Was so excited on the first day that I smoked :
Turkey legs & Breast - Lamb Breast - Bacon - Baby Back ribs - And Cornish hens.

By far the Turkey was the most amazing. ( Mostly because I brined it & I like turkey the best I think. )

But only 1 day latter and all that meat has disappeared. It was all good, but not all great.

Here's my first smoke - only 5 minutes into it. Right before I added the woodchips.

Learning the art of --- low and slow.

Welcome to smoking. I just started smoking last year and I got a lot of help and advice from the kind members on this forum. I suggest you choose something you want to try and do a search in the search bar. You will find lots of great ideas.

to SMF!  We are so glad you joined us!

We love to see pictures of what you are cooking (or what we call q-views here at SMF).  To "upload the q-views" just follow the directions here and it will be easier. If you are using a cell phone, an IPad or a kindle, go to the main SMF page and click the Mobile button. Will make the uploads a bit faster too.

If you didn't read the "Terms of Service" notes.....please do.  There are a few things that everyone should know about those pesky little rules before plunging into the forums and some guidelines of how to interact within the forums. Off site links are not allowed here at SMF per Jeff. Not that you have done anything wrong....just a little bit of FYI for new members!

If you need any help roaming around the forums....just holler!  Happy to help out!

Kat
