I meant to post this awhile ago:
A friend has asked me for a few years now to cook for their companies team in the Houston Mariner's Club Cookoff. Since I'm not a pro and just a friend, I always agree to help. 2012 was a bad year with a horrible rainstorm and a broken rotisserie type pit which ended with no trophies. This competition supports the Houston Mariner's Club and consists of about 40 teams of marine and marine law related companies.
This year was a different story.. We took home THREE trophies!! :sausage:
We Won:
- Third Place for Best Booth
- Second Place for Best Chili
- FIRST PLACE for Best Brisket (which is what I cooked)!!

We also turned in ribs, but didn't win on those:
This was my first 1st Place win, and hopefully it won't be the last!! I'm starting to rack up the trophies!
