Grants Pass, Or
Hi everyone..

I'm Paul and live near Grants Pass, Or.. Been Q'ing for more years than I can remember but mainly on charcoal grills. Favorite was the Kingsford Oval which everybody loved my ribs, briskets and roasts. I would load the coals (mostly mesquite) on one side and do the ribs on the other side. basting a lot.. My dad gave me a texas horizontal smoker which I never did like so gave it back.. I recently bought a MasterBuilt Dual door, dual fuel and have been having a ball with it. Whole new experience.. . Perused the forums and put a 8" cast pan in on top of the "stock" pan.. Use several different chunks and chips and it works great. Checked the thermo and it is within 10 degrees which works for me.. It didn't leak much smoke from the doors and I can keep it at 225 with TBS pretty easy.. Out doing some SL style ribs today so thought I would have a brew and introduce myself . I am retired from the IT business.

Really appreciate all your comments and recommendations.. Really have helped.. I don't post much (not really a verbose guy)

Anyway,, Hi.. Glad I am here..

to SMF!  We are so glad you joined us!

We love to see pictures of what you are cooking (or what we call q-views here at SMF).  To "upload the q-views" just follow the directions here and it will be easier. If you are using a cell phone, an IPad or a kindle, go to the main SMF page and click the Mobile button. Will make the uploads a bit faster too.

If you didn't read the "Terms of Service" notes.....please do.  There are a few things that everyone should know about those pesky little rules before plunging into the forums and some guidelines of how to interact within the forums. Off site links are not allowed here at SMF per Jeff. Not that you have done anything wrong....just a little bit of FYI for new members!

If you need any help roaming around the forums....just holler!  Happy to help out!
