Ribeyes (Bear Style)

A few days ago, Mrs Bear went down to the basement to my Meat freezer to get a couple packs of Bacon for BLTs. When she opened the freezer door, a couple of Ribeyes were winking at her. I never liked it when Mrs Bear got winked at, so on the Weber they go.

First a few hours marinating in “Ken's Honey Teriyaki Marinade”.
Then to my Weber Q.

The rest is below.

Onto the Grill they go:

As long as I was out there, I figured I'd take some pictures of the River Stones our Son put in for us. Last Christmas he gave us a little bag of stones, and told us he would do the rest of the garden areas this Summer. The end toward the Driveway I had already done last year with 2 yards. So he got 6 more cubic yards & did the rest, two weeks ago. It all used to be mulch.
He also did the areas around the outer edge of our rear Deck, but I didn't get back there to take pictures yet.

The Rock Garden looks god , too. Did you put a barrier below the Stone

If not, no biggie, this winter scrape all of your Salty Slush from the walkway , onto the Rocks. This will help kill weeds and cut down on the Weeding. During the growing Season , extra Salt ( Driveway salt , spread on liberally) will keep them gone...

Have fun , Stan...

That is a great looking steak. You should see what my wife makes me do to her steaks. If they were any more well done, they would be ash.

Nice looking work with the stones. Could I borrow your son for awhile?

Thank You Stan!!!

Actually 10 years ago I put the 4 X 6 PT borders in the ground. Then laid heavy duty black fabric, and then 4" of mulch. This time, we just leveled out the old mulch, laid new fabric on top, and put 3" to 4" of Upper Delaware River Stone on it.

Shouldn't be weeds growing, but I like the Salt idea if they do. Thanks for the tip!!

Nice looking steaks, need to drop a couple on the grill. The price of steaks down here has gone thought the roof.

Love the rare cooking.. :)

Nice job, but I have to sneak teriyaki in on my wife. Not one of her favs.

Thanks Flash!!!

Mrs Bear won't eat Fish or Seafood, and doesn't care for much smoke at all, but she loves Mushrooms & Med-Rare Steak!!

Thank You Disco!!!

Mrs Bear's Father & Sister like Well Done, but her Brothers & All of my family go for Med-Rare!!

LOL-----That kid (LOL----41 year old Kid) is tied up for awhile with some really neat stuff he's doing to his Back Yard & Pond. I told him to take pics along the way.

If you weren't so far away, you could easily bribe him with a hunting or fishing trip.

Thank You, Flip!!!

Every year I get my Ribeyes & Standing Rib Roasts (choice) the week before Christmas, when it goes on sale for $4.99.

Last time I got 70 pounds of it, and I vacuum pack it all. That was 20 months ago (Christmas 2011), and I have one Rib Roast left.

Nice Bear!  Those ribeyes look outstanding!  And I really like the river stones too.  Our beds are all red cedar mulch, but the stones look like a good, less maintenance, alternative.  Mrs. Red and I have to spread new mulch every spring.

Steaks look GREAT! I wish I could find them for 4.99 lb. The views for your house look fantastic.

Happy smoken.

Thank You David!!!

Give a good check at your Supermarkets during the week before Christmas.

Three years ago they had it for $5.99 two weeks before Christmas, so I bought a whole mess of it.

Then the following week it dropped to $4.99, but I had already got enough.

My Son got a bunch then @  $4.99.

Then the next year I waited, and got 70 pounds @ $4.99.

Thanks Farmer!!

Yup, the last time (20 months ago) I got 10 Rib Roasts. I had them cut the bones off of all of them, and keep them separate. That gave me 14 pounds of nice Dinos.

Then I had them slice 5 Boneless Ribeyes out of each of two of the Rib Roasts.

Then I kept the other 8 Roasts as is for Prime Rib, about 6 pounds each.

All I have left is one Prime Rib Roast.
