Rob here, I have had my first smoker (a Masterbuilt Pro) for a whole week now and am looking forward to being able to compete by the end of the month My wife happened to be out of town this past week and talking to her on the phone that I seasoned the smoker she jokingly asked if I had smoked hot dogs (a common meal for me when she is out of town), I chuckled then thought why not, after I got off the phone a quick search and I found a method to do hot dogs so I had to give it a try. I know smoking 2 hot dogs was not practical but I learned a lot. My next smoke was 3 racks of baby back ribs which tasted pretty good and I was very proud of myself. Of course half way through the process we had an afternoon storm roll through and the rain drops on the top of the smoker began to suck out the heat so I had to think fast.
It may not be pretty but it worked
