HI I All I just had a problem with my Grizzly 5 lb stuffer. So I'm posting, just in case some one else has the same problem. When the piston was at the bottom it would not come back up, for some reason it was NOT threaded on too tightly. So there I was with the rod coming back up and piston lodge in the bottom, tight as tight can be..What to do, I tried pulling it up by valve release nut, would not budge. Next I looked to take the the stuffer apart, I didn't have clue,I know they do come apart cause people on here have replaced the gears. Here is what I did to resolve the problem, turn the stuffer upside down and threaded the rod onto the piston, low and behold piston/plunger came back up.

Called Grizzly they were very polite and was looking for a way to resolve my problem. While waiting for there return call, I got it fixed..
Now what is best way to take it apart?

Thanks Dan
Hope this may help someone.

I don't have one, but love figuring out puzzles.

Have you tried with the plunger plate off to continue to crank the shaft up threw the gears? You may have to remove the bottom washer. Not sure hard to tell with the pictures I see online.

Dan, morning....    Which part do you want to remove..... the plunger unscrews from the vertical shaft... Remove the bolts and the "stand" comes apart..  Run the shaft down and out....  Remove the handle and the gears come out....

Now all this is from memory so the accuracy of my dis-assembly instructions may be off a little....

Do not over tighten the plunger on the shaft... Just snug, is fine....

Please explain run the shaft down n out? Sorry but I DON'T see how the gears come apart, This is just for the future IF the problem comes back.
Thanks Da.

With the stuffer base removed turn the crank handle so the shaft will drive down and drop out then the gears will come out. Here is a drawing. The shaft must go in the down position to remove due to the key in the shaft
