Hey All..

Bob here from Bullhead city AZ. First I'd like to say thanks to all the guys & girls on here! I've been reading all lot of helpful info on here the last couple weeks.. just Got my first smoker a analog MES.   I'm pretty good on the grill and always wanted to try smoking after a co worker smoked me a turkey years ago, and now that I'm hooked on the TV show Pit Masters, I had to get one. I found my smoker for $75. New out the door.  so far I've done ribs and a ham (helped by you all) they turned out Ok. I've since gotten a Maverick ET73 haven't cooked with it yet, but I did run the smoker to check it out and the gauge that came with it was of by 30/35° so I blame that for the ribs just being "Ok".  I modified the back of the Maverick so I don't have to take the battery door or the clip off to turn unit on/off. Also made a bracket to hold the unit up off the smoker. I got pics but don't know where to put em..rolleyes.gif   Thanks again all for having a great place to get help.. I'll get those pics up later.

Welcome to SMF and yeah, isn't this a great place to learn! When you write a post, there is a toolbar, right above where you type. One of them looks like a little picture and if you hover the mouse over it, it says "Insert Image". Just click on that and click the "Upload Files"  and you should be in business in no time.

And we really do believe this = th_nopicsye3.gif

Good luck and we are glad you joined!

Bob, welcome to SMF.

You already know there is a lot of great information in the forums and a lot of kind members who will help you. They have been very kind to me since I started smoking last fall.

One way I have improved my smoking is by posting my projects with pictures and descriptions. I got lots of advice and suggestions every time I did.

I look forward to seeing your posts.

welcome1.gifto SMF!  We are so glad you joined us!

We love to see pictures of what you are cooking (or what we call q-views here at SMF).  To "upload the q-views" just follow the directions here and it will be easier. If you are using a cell phone, an IPad or a kindle, go to the main SMF page and click the Mobile button. Will make the uploads a bit faster too.

If you didn't read the "Terms of Service" notes.....please do.  There are a few things that everyone should know about those pesky little rules before plunging into the forums and some guidelines of how to interact within the forums. Off site links are not allowed here at SMF per Jeff. Not that you have done anything wrong....just a little bit of FYI for new members!

If you need any help roaming around the forums....just holler!  Happy to help out!

One thing you need to know about us is that we like to see pictures of your creations and your gear.  We call it Q-View and its basically the Rules.gif!!!

So, don't just talk about your food, show it!  Otherwise you may get a gentle reminder, like this...
