I saw this one on You Tube today in a post called "My Modifications to Brinkmann Smoke N Grill"
The fellow took off the legs and sat it straight on the ground (concrete) and I imagine the firepan also on the ground and put two of the Weber damper/vents
on the bottom and one on the lid.
Here is a still shot of the mod. it only shows one of the two bottom vents. the other one is on the back side.

This mod would really help you control the temps for some serious low and slow!
