Cajundennis Newbie

Hello.  You can call me Dennis.  I had to make up a name, so I took it from the mfg. of my smoker and my name.  I am not a Cajun, but I do like Cajun food.  I am new to smoking; however I have tasted some very good smoked meats.  So, I decided to get me a smoker and give it a try.  I am a retired construction safety guy from Henderson, KY which is in the Western part of Kentucky, across the Ohio river from Evansville, Indiana.  I just purchased a 4 rack Cajun Electric smoker.  I plan to smoke beef, pork, chicken, fish, and maybe some lamb.  I am looking forward to trying some of the recipes that I have seen on this site.  Thank you ahead of time for all the help that you will give to me.

One thing you need to know about us is that we like to see pictures of your creations and your gear.  We call it Q-View and its basically the Rules.gif!!!

 

So, don't just talk about your food, show it!  Otherwise you may get a gentle reminder, like this...

Glad you joined the group. The search bar at the top of any page is your best friend.
About anything you wanna know about smoking/grilling/curing/brining/cutting or slicing
and the list goes on has probably been posted. Remember to post a QVIEW of your smokes.
We are all smoke junkies here and we have to get our fix. If you have questions Post it
and you will probably get 10 replies with 11 different answers. That is because their
are so many different ways to make great Q We all have our own taste.

Welcome to the forum.

 

I just started smoking last fall and didn't have much success until I found this forum. The help and information here is the best.

 

I suggest you dive in and post pictures and descriptions of you projects and you will get a ton of help and suggestions. It really helped me.
