That's a great idea and really looked awesome. I'll have to try that! The only eggs I normally smoke are Scotch Eggs but these sound great.

Have you tried to Smoke Raw Eggs

Lots of fun and a great conversation snack while waiting on the meal to finish.

Stan, I have done the "pterodactyl" eggs before. They are fun to do too.

Thanks Scott! I do a batch of these fairly often. I really have found that they make the best deviled eggs around! They are also really good added to tater salad! Would be good sliced and added to a cobb salad too!

Sorry for the newbie question, but I DO have to ask ... do you leave the eggs in the shell (and if you do, does the smoke flavor penetrate the shell) or do you break them into ramekins and put the ramekins into the smoker?

Thanks!

Milt

Milt. I'm sorry for not answering quicker.

I put the Eggs on in the shell , uncooked and in a place that stays around 250*F. And yes, the Smoke flavor gets into the Egg. The Smokey taste is nice and mild ,the Egg is not rubbery   as it gets when boiled/peeled and then smoked.

Do one or two some time and astound your Guest with "Grilled Eggs"

Have fun and...

These are cold smoked, so usually with this setup it's about 15* above the outdoor temp. I didn't probe the smoker this time, but is was about 70* outside and cooling. Typically I like it to be under 80* for cold smoking.

Well currently that would have my smoker at 115º. Hey, its Florida.

Love your area. Hoping to get back out there someday again. Made several trips back in the late 80's. Some great fishing out there.
