Thought I'd put a meatloaf on the MES 40.  I'll use the AMPS and Crank the MES up as high as the setting will go at 275.
  • 3 pounds of lean ground beef
  • 1 pound of ground pork.
  • 1 cup of finely chopped sweet onion
  • 1 cup of crushed saltine crackers.
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/2 cup chunky salsa
  • I egg beaten.
  • 4 TBS Worcestershire.
  • 3 TBS Season Salt
  • 2 TBS crushed black Pepper
  • 1 TSP Garlic powder.
  • 1 TSP cumin
  • 1/2 cup ( approx) ketchup

I've turned up the MES all the way. It will only set to 275.  Fortunately mine is a 1200 watt unit and when it is set at 275 the smoker temp will usually hit around 300.

I'm also using the Maverick Remote to keep an eye on the smoker temp and the internal temp of the meatloaf.

Thanks! Following along with interest!

Hey Mike! Hows it going buddy? Any smoking plans for the weekend?  The mac is in the oven this time. Might put it in the smoker towards the end for a hint o smoke...

Hey B.. its hot...! But you know that ;). I have some pork tips (never saw them before... but its the left over cuts whem st louis style) they were cheap...and my tri tip was so great last weekend. .. I wanna do another two . And.... I think I nailed my jerky. .. so probably 15lbs raw jerky... other than that.... (im single and eat alone.. this fokd better last me all damn week)
The "no boil mac n cheese" in the smoker is really the real deal in my opinion. ... simple..easy...and quick.... nd SMOKEY!

Man if there is food I like it is meatloaf with a side of mac and cheese. I've never had smoked meatloaf, so I also look forward to more qview. I may save that recipe for the future

All sounds good buddy. Yup 100 plus degree summer finally got here.  Chat later pal.

And here is the smoked meatloaf. Internal temp at 165.

And you can't have meatloaf with out a big ol' bowl of Mac N Cheese.  The Mac was baked in the oven. ...Then put in the smoker for a bit to give it a kiss of smoke flavor and color.

WOW looks great but I cant use eggs.  My son is allegeric to them.

Thanks disco. I always appreciate your kind words.

Farmer.  I'd bet leaving the egg out wouldn't be a big deal on this loaf.  Give it a try. B
