Howdy from SW Idaho

Thread Starter

I’m from SW Idaho and have been gas grilling for the last 21 years. Now it is time to move from the dark side and join the Smokey side. My grilling has been just the basic type of grilling. About a month or so ago I decided it was time to change things up. So for fathers day I smoked a pork butt on the gas grill and it turned out great. I did find the help here to get it going. I picked up a Jumbo Joe for camping a playing around the house to start.

welcome1.gifto SMF!  We are so glad you joined us! Would you mind updating your profile to show the other SMF members were you are located?  Might meet some neighbors!

We love to see pictures of what you are cooking (or what we call q-views here at SMF).  To "upload the q-views" just follow the directions here and it will be easier. If you are using a cell phone, an IPad or a kindle, go to the main SMF page and click the Mobile button. Will make the uploads a bit faster too.

If you didn't read the "Terms of Service" notes.....please do.  There are a few things that everyone should know about those pesky little rules before plunging into the forums and some guidelines of how to interact within the forums. Off site links are not allowed here at SMF per Jeff. Not that you have done anything wrong....just a little bit of FYI for new members!

If you need any help roaming around the forums....just holler!  Happy to help out!

Thank you everyone! Looks like a great place to hang out and learn a few more things. I’ll have to remember to start taking pictures when I try something new. I’ve enjoyed surfing behind the seen and look forward to doing more as a member.

I did spend the few bones for Jeff’s E-Course. He has done a lot of work from what little I have been on the sight.
