to SMF!  We are so glad you joined us!

We love to see pictures of what you are cooking (or what we call q-views here at SMF).  To "upload the q-views" just follow the directions here and it will be easier. If you are using a cell phone, an IPad or a kindle, go to the main SMF page and click the Mobile button. Will make the uploads a bit faster too.

If you didn't read the "Terms of Service" notes.....please do.  There are a few things that everyone should know about those pesky little rules before plunging into the forums and some guidelines of how to interact within the forums. Off site links are not allowed here at SMF per Jeff. Not that you have done anything wrong....just a little bit of FYI for new members!

If you need any help roaming around the forums....just holler!  Happy to help out!

Welcome aboard!

That little Brinkmann will provide some fine food, and it will give you a real education in fire and temperature management. I've said many times, the Brinkmann (or ECB for "El Cheapo Brinkmann") is kind of the VW Bug of smokers. Some folks have one for a while and move on to something else, while some folks get caught up in the mystique of it all and spend all their time modifying it. But just about everyone has had one at one point or another.

There is a lot of good info here that takes just a small amount of research to find. Don't be shy about posting questions, but you might wanna see of you can find the answer on your own first. The most important thing is to share your experiences, both good and bad. A forum is really just a giant conversation, so the more you add to it, the more you and others get out of it.

Have fun!!

Thanks everyone. I've got my chickens in the brine and can't wait til my husband gets home to start this baby up! I will post a nice q view of our first attempt/ hopefully success. :)

Ha ha nice. I will not forget.i may need to start cooking these befor hubby gets home. Is there something I can use other than lighter fluid, he has it with him how much time should I give myself to cook two small chickens? Their back bones have been removed

Hey there. Glen Burnie Md here. Nice to have you.

I just did two small chickens last Sunday. It took a little over three hours @ 250. Get a good remote. Invest in a good chimney unless you like to use lighter fluid.

There is a wealth of information here and don't forget the "QView".

I finished them but worried that they were only cooked at 150 or so for 3 give or take hours. I'm more prepared for next time though.
