Hello my name is Brad living in the countryside of Northern Kentucky.  My wife gifted me a Weber Smokey Mountain 18.5 for Christmas in 2011. This was my first smoker.  My wife and I have always enjoyed good smoked BBQ from various restaurants all over Kentucky, but we wanted to try it first hand.  We knew there must be a better way to get the wonderful flavor of smoked meat.  Before my wife got me the WSM, we tried our gas grill with the usual little metal smoker tray with wood chips, but that never gave us the good deep smoke taste.

I have plenty of Hickory, Maple, Wild Cherry and other seasoned woods at my disposal.  I have smoked many types of meat and have been amazed at the quality of smoke taste when you do it yourself and have enjoyed my friend's comments when they come to our home on the overall taste, no matter the kind of meat prepared.

I joined SmokingMeatForums.com to learn more about the art of smoking meat and the many ways other cooks have accomplished good smoking based on their experiences.
