I've been following Jeff's news letter for some years now. I've tried smoking in the past but never really got the hang of it. So with your help maybe I can get it. We retired from the Army about 2 years ago and moved to San Antonio for a new job. I just got me an Old Country offset smoker from academy. Not what I really wanted but it will have to do for now. Is San Antonio still growing leaps and bounds? It was the fast growing place back in the 90's I ever saw, they built the loop and it was cram packed before they could finish. Amazing town. A friend long ago had a bar there, he's a retired roedeo guy from Mineral Wells. Smurf was a clown. But this isn't a rodeo board. And this is the Howdee-do area. Ok, one last off smoke question, is there still five military bases in San Antonio? You gotta love Texas politics.

The search engine here is just packed full of good information. The tutorials you'll fine exceedingly helpful. The search engine has things you will believe no one would have ever thought of in it, and in depth. research is good. The Guru's, those folks you'll see as a moderator or with tags saying OTBS, totally awesome sauce. If you have something specific you don't unerstand about the researched item they can clarify, and they type so fast they get special keyboards with cooling water attached. The folks you'll meet are all very helpful, throw something out there and you'll get a good discussion. Always remember if you don't add it to your profile, to always tell where you live and what you cook on. That is how specific the answers around here can get. Although its alot easier to add 'em in your profile.

I suggest even to the wisened old veterans that you start a notebook on your smokes, like a snipers killbook. Who, what, when, where, why and how. That way you can remember what you liked last time, what you didn't, then you can reseach your reasons and discuss what would be the best modification to attempt to aid in the change. A very smart Guru is the one who suggested the notebook to me. Besides wouldn't it be terrible when you hit that perfect smoke if you celibated the achievement and forgot what the magic difference was? Anyway its just a suggestion.

Glad you are here, remember it all supposed to be fun, no stress allowed!

Enjoy the smoke and welcome to my addiction.
